The Shambhala Meditation Center of Chicago is proud to present “True Perception: Mindfulness in Art,” a exhibition of art to celebrate Shambhala Art weekend on March 20-21. The art will be displayed between March 10th and March 21st.

We are currently looking for submissions of “mindful visual art.” Any works for sale are considered 100% donation to the Shambhala Meditation Center of Chicago. Works that are not for sale will also be welcome. For a complete description of mindful art, further information, and for instructions on how to submit art work please view the prospectus (http://chicago.shambhala.org/Resources/Documents/Shambhala_Arts_Day_Prospectus.pdf). The deadline for submission is Feb 20, 2009.

“A work of art is created because there is basic sacredness, independent of the artist’s particular religious faith or trust. Sacredness from that point of view is the discovery of goodness, which is independent of personal, social, or physical restrictions.”
- Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, in Dharma Art
